在欧洲杯小组赛第3轮，扎卡尼打进绝平球，帮助意大利小组出线。扎卡尼在Instagram上发布了自己当时的进球照片，并表示：“看着这张照片，我的内心会有两种不同的想法，就像足球每天带给我们的不同情绪那样。一方面，第98分钟的进球让我们晋级16强，这是一种喜悦。而另一方面，则是一种失败的感觉。”
